These are dense, straight and smooth pieces of rattan that are as close to uniform diameter as possible.They feature a tight pack of fibers at the cut end of the rattan. Rattan Swords or Staves are used for SCA battles because unlike wood, it doesn't form into dangerous sharp splinters when it breaks. Also used for Bo Staff, the most basic weapon used in Martial Arts. Rattan Staffs from BambooMN  is the highest quality Rattan available online anywhere.
Features
  • Cut from oil cured Malaysian Manau Rattan, the toughest species available and will hold up to hard use much longer than other types of Rattan.
  • These poles are a natural product yet carefully crafted and selected to ensure they are straight and smooth. They were hand-straightened here in Minnesota to ensure the most uniformly straight poles possible.
  • SCA participants may choose a wide range of weapons, the striking surfaces of which are made of rattan and may use leather, foam, and duct tape to complete the Rattan Staffs purchased here.
  • Choose from diameters of 1", 1.1", 1.25", 1.375", 1.5", and over 1.5".
  • Lengths between 24" and 102" available on our website.
